What Jasper AI Actually Does

Jasper is an AI writing assistant specifically designed for marketing content. Unlike general-purpose tools like ChatGPT or Claude, Jasper is built around marketing workflows: blog posts, ad copy, social media content, email campaigns, and product descriptions.

Result: Good but not $49/month better. The actual quality wasn't meaningfully better than Claude Pro. Where Jasper shines is speed for formulaic content — 10 product descriptions or 20 ad variations.

Result: This is where Jasper earns its keep. We generated a week's worth of LinkedIn posts in 15 minutes. Brand voice training meant posts sounded like us, not a robot.

Email copy

Result: Comparable to alternatives. Marketing emails were fine but we got similar results from Claude Pro with good prompting. 10% quality difference for 150% more cost.

Ad copy

Result: Jasper's strongest area. For Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and LinkedIn Ads, Jasper's templates are purpose-built. Character limits respected, CTAs punchy, 10 variations in seconds.

What We Liked

Brand Voice is the real differentiator. After training on 5 samples, output sounded noticeably more like us.
Templates save time for repetitive tasks. High-volume similar content is genuinely faster.
Campaign feature is clever. One brief, multiple outputs across channels.
Interface is polished. Feels like a professional writing tool, not a chatbot.

What We Didn't Like

Price is hard to justify. $49/month for basics, $125/month for the useful stuff (SEO, campaigns, multiple brand voices).
Marketing tool, not a business tool. Doesn't help with emails, proposals, meeting summaries, or other solopreneur writing tasks.
